About Us
We are a traditional Japanese Jujutsu dojo located in Walterville in Copley, Ohio (“on the circle”). Our style of Jujutsu is called Hakko Denshin Ryu, which employs the strikes of karate, the throws of judo, wrist and joint locks, as well as pressure point techniques.
While following the principle of “no resistance, no injury”, Hakko Denshin Ryu teaches students to use their assailant’s strength against them. Because of this, anyone of any age or size can learn our techniques.
Classes consist of learning waza and henka:
Waza are a series of techniques, done for form, as a method of teaching and learning.
Henka is where we apply the techniques learned in waza to real world/self-defense situations.
If you are interested in our classes, feel free to contact us or stop by to meet us and watch a class!
We are committed to maintaining the legacy of our instructor, Soke Michael J. LaMonica, providing real world applications for adults and children.
