Awarded Menkyo Kaiden Shihan San dai Kichu by Soke Michael J. LaMonica, Erica Flemmer is the president and head instructor of the Ninth Light Dojo. She began training in 1993 and is the third highest ranking woman in the world in Hakko Denshin Ryu Ju Jutsu. She is also the only female head instructor in North America.

LaMonica and Menkyo Kaiden by Chief Head Instructor of North America, Scott Evans, Menkyo Kaiden Shihan Sarah Haiss is one of our instructors and is the treasurer of the Ninth Light Dojo. She has been training for over 13 years and is the fourth highest ranking woman in the world.
Yondan Amelia Schmotzer
Yondan Amelia Schmotzer is the youth instructor and the secretary at the Ninth Light Dojo. She began training in Hakko Denshin Ryu Ju Jutsu in 1998 under Michael J. LaMonica. While living in California for a time, she trained in Brazilian jiu jitsu, judo, and Hawaiian ju jitsu. She is the sixth-highest-ranked woman in the world in HDRJJ.
Sandan Steve Catalano is the Vice President of the Ninth Light Dojo. He has began training in 2013, and currently holds the rank of Sandan (3rd level black belt).
Mike Casey began training in 2017 and currently holds the rank of Sandan (third level black belt). After serving as a Staff Sergeant in the Army MP Corps, he has been in local law enforcement since 2007. He studied Kempo for 10 years and is a certified OPOTA instructor.
Garrison Ure began training in 2015 and currently holds the rank of Sandan (third level black belt).
Currently a Nidan (second degree black belt), Sofie began training in Sensei Chris LaMonica's youth class in 2018, earning her Shodan (black belt) under Soke LaMonica in 2021. Sofie is a student at Kent State University.
Carter Ure began training in 2015 in Sensei Chris LaMonica's youth class and currently holds the rank of Shodan (first level black belt). Carter is a student at the University of Akron studying cyber-forensics, and enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons
